Summary and Comment: The autopsy report states:

Cause of death: Inhalation of smoke, carbon monoxide poisoning, and extensive charring.
Advanced decomposition.

The remains had been on site without refrigeration for less than two weeks, yet exhibited "advanced postmortem decomposition."

Summary and Comment: The DOJ Report states:

Identified Branch Davidians From April 19 Fire … Joseph Martinez died of smoke and carbon monoxide inhalation. His body was found inside the bunker. His body was identified from dental records. He was 8 years old.
